Authorities in St. Lucie County, in the state of Floridain the United States, reported that the passage of Hurricane Miltonbetween Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th, caused at least four deaths. However, Governor Ron DeSantis says the state anticipates more victims.
The sheriff (police chief) of St. Lucie County, Keith Pearson, reported that it is not yet possible to confirm the total number of deaths and injured people. Agents are visiting houses in the region to identify the conditions of residents.
Pearson called the hurricane “a weather event like no other” in the region.

Later on Wednesday, President Joe Biden said he sent thousands of federal agents to areas affected by the storm, including more than a thousand members of the Coast Guard.
