The Senate’s Economic Affairs Committee (CAE) approved this Tuesday the three new nominees of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to join the Central Bank’s board of directors from January.
The names of Nilton David, head of treasury operations at Bradesco bank, were approved for the Monetary Policy department, and career civil servants Gilneu Vivan and Izabela Correa for the Regulation and Relationship, Citizenship and Conduct Supervision departments, respectively.
David was approved by 22 votes in favor and 5 against. Vivan’s approval was 23 to 4, while Correa’s approval was given with 24 votes in favor and 3 against.

The nominations now go to the Senate plenary for consideration, where the final vote will be taken for the nominations to be authorized.
