Sabesp announced this Tuesday that it decided to discontinue investment projections for the period between 2024 and 2028, which predicted disbursements of 47.4 billion reais to add thousands of water and sewage connections, in addition to expanding and improving systems.
According to a brief fact relevant to the market, the company only states that the decision to cancel the projections is due to “realignment of its internal policies”.
The company’s control was privatized this year, after the government of the State of São Paulo agreed to reduce its stake in the company. The new controller, the Equatorial group, took over the company in September, with the election of the company’s new executive president.

In Sabesp’s previous projections, published in a reference form in October this year, the company stated that the numbers did not include “effects of the privatization process, among them the expansion of the concession area with the consequent increase in the population served, as well as the anticipation of universalization goals” and that the values could therefore be revised.
In the material fact published this Tuesday, Sabesp does not inform how much the estimates were revised.
