The Justice of Peru sentenced, this Monday 21st, to 20 years and six months in prison the former president Alejandro Toledo.
The politician was found guilty of receiving millionaire bribes from the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht in exchange for contracts with his government (2001-2006).
“This collegiate accepts the request made by the prosecution for 20 years and six months in prison for Mr. Alejandro Toledo Manrique”, announced the Supreme Court in a hearing at which the 78-year-old former president was present.
