Former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’Anno he died at the age of 66, this Monday 21st. The family confirmed the artist’s death, at his home, in Salisbury, England.
Paul Andrews, better known as Paul Di’Anno, was the original lead singer of the band heavy metal from 1978 to 1981 and released, with the group, the albums Iron Maiden (1980) e Killers (1981). He was then replaced by the current vocalist, Bruce Dickinson.
Di’Anno was also part of groups such as Gogmagog, Di’Anno’s Battlezone and Rockfellas.
He has stepped away from the stage in recent years due to health problems. In June 2022, he had to undergo three knee surgeries in Croatia. At the time, I had a kitty online open, but Iron Maiden sent the remaining amount for surgery and treatments.
Record label Conquest Music mourned the artist’s death in a statement, stating that “despite having suffered from serious health problems in recent years, which have restricted him to performing in a wheelchair, Paul continued to entertain his fans around the world, accumulating more than 100 shows since 2023”.
