Optional points, such as Carnival and Corpus Christi, are not considered mandatory national holidays, but can be decreed by state or municipal governments.
The worker with a formal contract must confirm, with the company’s HR, whether there will be working hours on the days on which an optional period is declared. It is important to highlight that sectors considered essential, such as healthcare and supermarkets, normally operate on holidays and during optional periods.
