A CCR This Thursday (12) won the auction of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) for the concession of lot 3 of the Paraná Integrated Highway System, with a 26.6% discount on the basic toll rate.

The auctioned lot involves 21 cities and is 570 kilometers long. The concession stretch begins in Ponta Grossa, one of the main road and rail junctions in Brazil and holder of the fifth largest industrial Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the State, continuing to Londrina, the largest municipality in the interior of Paraná, with 555.9 thousand inhabitants .

With the victory, CCR is committed to investing R$15.9 billion in the coming years. Among the planned improvements are the construction of four road bypasses, two of which are in Ponta Grossa. The concession will be for 30 years.

In addition to CCR, EPR, Pátria and the 4UM/Opportunity consortium also participated in the event. The auction moved to the outcry bidding stage with EPR, CCR and Pátria, which offered a discount of more than 20% on the initial proposal. The hands-free bidding stage lasted around 20 minutes and was based on a 24.18% discount on the toll fee proposed by EPR, the largest in the first stage.

The Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, stated that the discount offered by CCR represents a reduction in the average price of toll plazas in the region of 70%, falling from R$25 per 100 kilometers in recent years to R$10.

This is the third auction that CCR has participated in in just under two months. The company, controlled by Itaúsa, Votorantim e Mover (formerly Camargo Corrêa), won the auction of Rota Sorocabana at the end of October, paying R$1.6 billion for the concession. On the other hand, it was surpassed by EcoRodovias in the Raposo Tavares contest at the end of November, losing the concession to its competitor, which offered more than double.

The president of CCR Rodovias, Eduardo Camargo, stated after the auction that, with the lot won this Thursday, the group now has more than 4 thousand kilometers of highways operated in Brazil. “We operated part of this lot through Rodonorte and it is a very important export corridor,” said Camargo during a hammering ceremony at B3, in São Paulo.
