A Black Friday de 2024 officially starts at midnight this Friday (29). Anyone interested in purchasing a product online can pay attention to the times when discounts are greatest.
According to a survey by Promobit, a platform specializing in discounts and promotions, the best Black Friday offers this year should be offered between 10pm this Thursday (28th) and 1am Friday (29th) — following Brasília time.

The numbers are based on the average number of promotions published and the percentage of discounts between 2021 and 2023. According to the survey, another time of great promotions is scheduled for Friday afternoon, between 2pm and 7pmin which promotions have reached up to 35% off in recent years.

Increase in sales
Black Friday should be busy R$5.22 billion in Brazilian trade this year, according to projections from the National Confederation of Commerce in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC). The number represents 0.4% growth compared to 2023. Electronic and furniture products should be the main categories sold in the period, responsible for 46% of the volume sold.
Another survey, by Linx, which specializes in retail technology, shows that early Black Friday promotions were responsible for the boom in the country’s retail trade. There was a national average growth in physical sales of 6% in the first fortnight of November compared to the first fifteen days of the previous month, when pre-Black Friday was not in effect.
Sales in e-commerce increased by 12% in the weekend before Black Friday compared to the same period last year.
In 2023, the second half of November showed 38% growth in sales compared to the previous 15 days — this movement is expected this year.
How much to spend?
Most consumers intend to spend R$ 201 a R$ 500 on Black Friday, according to a survey at Banco24Horas ATMs, carried out between August 19 and September 6, with more than 126 thousand people.
According to the research, spending levels are distributed as follows:
- up to R$50: 17%;
- from R$ 51 to R$ 100: 9,8%;
- from R$ 101 to R$ 200: 9,4%;
- from R$ 201 to R$ 500: 23,6%;
- from R$ 501 to R$ 1,000: 18,5%;
- above R$1,000: 21%.
The products of food (18.2%) e electronics (18.1%) are preferred, followed by household items (15.3%), clothes (7.4%), hygiene and beauty (7.2%), drinks (2.8%) e travel (2.5%).
