Identified as Vem Miller, 49, resident of Las Vegas, the suspect was “in possession of a shotgun, a loaded pistol and a high-capacity magazine”, and was arrested before Trump arrived, when he was driving an SUV, reported Chad Bianco , sheriff of Riverside County.
Miller was in possession of “several passports with different names, an unregistered vehicle with false license plates and loaded firearms,” Bianco said. “There is no way for any of us to know what was going through his mind, but if you ask me now, my agents probably prevented the third assassination attempt.”
The suspect is expected to appear in a local court in January, for the crimes of possession of a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine.
